In deciding to make use of the EPF Investment Withdrawal scheme, you must be aware that you are fully responsible for your investments with the fund manager. The EPF is not responsible to compensate any losses from the investment made.

As such, it is very important for you to make your decision wisely. This is particularly so in choosing which trust fund to invest in. If you are not willing to take the risk (of potential loss), then it is advisable that you leave your money in the EPF.

Under the scheme, you are not allowed to acquire shares directly from the stock market. All investment must be made through fund managers appointed by the Ministry of Finance. You can choose any of the approved fund managers. The latest list of approved fund managers can be obtained from this website or any EPF office.

Once a member's application is processed, EPF will transfer the amount of savings that can be invested directly to the fund manager concerned within 21 days after the application is received by the EPF. Accordingly, all risks on the investments are also transferred to you automatically.

You may want to note that investments can be made at the intervals of three months from the date of the last transfer, subject to the availability of  the amount exceeding the required Basic Savings amount.
