Topping Up Savings Retirement

Background 

With reference to the implementation of ‘Beyond Savings’, beginning 2 January 2007, the EPF has introduced a new scheme with the objective to optimise members’ savings retirement for old age. The restructuring of members’ accounts whereby members can transfer savings from Account 2 to Account 1 is a way to ensure the objective of the EPF’s scheme is achieved and continuously relevant with members’ needs in the future (retirement).

Terms of Application To Transfer Member’s Sub-Account

• Transfer of Members’ Sub-Accounts from Account 2 to Account 1 can be done any time with no determined amount limit subject to the members’ current total savings
  

• However, the amount that has been transferred to Account 1 cannot be transferred back to Account 2 (the original account) regardless of the reason. Members must finalise their decisions before submitting their applications.
