A contribution is the amount of money paid to the EPF based on the monthly salary of an employee. The monthly contributions will be credited into the employee's EPF account.
The EPF contributions of an employee are made up of the employee's and employer's share.
The employee's share is deducted from the employee's salary and contributed to the EPF. The employer's share is the amount of money contributed by the employer based on the salary of the employee and contributed to the EPF.
EPF contributions can be paid by:
- Postal order
- Internet banking
- Electronic fund transfer (EFT)
- Bank draft
- Any other channel approved by the EPF
Payments must be made to the nearest ringgit at the rate specified in the Third Schedule of the EPF Act 1991.
