e-Payroll is a new facility in the i-Akaun (Employer) to help employers to manage and maintain their payroll records digitally.
The main functions of e-Payroll are as follows:
e-Payroll only provides basic payroll management function. We encourage SMEs who need more HR functions such as claims and leave management to consider using any of the statutory compliant payroll solutions in the market.
e-Payroll is targeted at SMEs who are not utilising any payroll solutions.
Employers are not required to install any software. e-Payroll can be accessed via i-Akaun (Employer) from computers or tablets.
Yes. Yearly tax forms are available in the e-Payroll.
Any browser used to access i-Akaun (Employer) can be used to accesss e-Payroll such as Chrome version 69 or later, Firefox 61 and later, Safari 11 and later, or Edge 16 and later.
No. e-Payroll automatically generates data files (electronic) and also provides links to the respective statutory agency websites (IRBM and SOCSO) for mandatory contribution payments.
Yes. We strongly encourage new e-Payroll users who have just enrolled in e-Payroll to process their payroll from previous months starting January (of the current year) until the current month in order to have an accurate income tax calculation and a complete EA form for the year.
Data in e-payroll will be stored for 7 years for Employer’s reference.

The salary month used in e-Payroll refers to the current month in the calendar. e-Payroll will display the current month according to the current date. Employers must select the desired month before processing their employee's payroll.
Employers are not encouraged to cancel processed payroll month. Therefore, it is important for employers to ensure that employee salary information is accurately verified before processing payroll through the e-Payroll.
