The Investment Division manages the EPF's investment fund with two primary long-term investment objectives to preserve and enhance the value of capital from members' contributions; and to maintain stable and consistent returns over the long-term within tolerable risk limits. The EPF invests in a number of approved financial instruments which include Malaysian Government Securities and Equivalent; Equities; Loans and Bonds; Money Market Instruments; and Real Estate and Infrastructure.

Treasury Department

The Treasury Department is responsible for managing the cash asset class and investment portfolio in fixed income (Government and equivalents). The department also manages the EPF’s foreign exchange requirements and executes hedging of foreign exchange and interest rate risks.

Real Estate Investment Department

The Real Estate Investment Department manages the domestic and offshore real estate portfolio. The department’s role includes acquisition, asset management, disposal, and portfolio optimisation. Both in-house and external capabilities are utilised to ensure that responsible investments with balanced risk-reward profiles are made.

Equity Department

Equity Department is responsible for managing domestic and global equity investments through internal portfolio managers based on asset allocation and approved investment mandates in a prudent, transparent and professional manner to optimize investment returns. Our strategic intent is to be the leading domestic and global equity investment manager in pension industry whilst fulfilling stakeholders’ needs.

Private Equity & Infrastructure Department

The Private Equity & Infrastructure Department sources, evaluates, and executes investment opportunities in the private equity and infrastructure space that meets the targeted returns. The department manages two asset classes, namely Private Equity and Infrastructure.

Capital Market Department

The Capital Markets Department is responsible for managing the domestic and global fixed income mandates which encompasses both origination and trading of Private Debt Securities (PDS) and Loans/ Financing structures. The department aims to provide a broad range of comprehensive and sophisticated solutions tailored to Capital Market’s requirements while optimising returns and preserving capital through diversification across the credit spectrum.

External Fund Managers Department

The External Fund Managers Department is responsible for supervising external fund managers according to industry best practices in order to optimise investment returns within tolerable risks. The department seeks to capture the diversification effect by appointing leading domestic and global fund managers in their respective areas.

Strategic Investment and Research Department

Strategic Investment and Research Department is responsible to actively manage and create value for EPF’s strategic portfolio companies and to identify and invest into new strategic opportunities through activities such as corporate transactions, restructuring, mergers and acquisition (M&A) and direct & indirect investments for the approved Strategic Mandates. SIRD also aims to drive shareholder activism to deliver good governance and to maximise shareholder values.  SIRD is also tasked with providing quality in-depth equity research to support the internal fund managers and other investment teams on their investment decisions.

Investment Strategy and Analytics Department

Investment Strategy and Analytics Department is responsible for effective management of investment’s asset and liability through SAA, actuarial and analytics to ensure investment returns are optimized and liabilities are met. This includes management of the overall asset, liquidity and investment performance (dividend management) for both Simpanan Shariah and Simpanan Konvensional.
