Cause Of Fire At EPF Building In Jalan Gasing Still Under Investigation

KWASA DAMANSARA, 22 May 2023: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) announces that the fire at its building in Jalan Gasing, Petaling Jaya, this morning has been fully extinguished with no reports of human injuries or casualties, and would like to extend its deepest appreciation to the Fire and Rescue Department for its swift response in controlling the fire before it causes further damage.

The building, which has been left unoccupied since the first fire that broke out in February 2018, is set to be repurposed into a senior living facility by Pacific Retirement Living Sdn Bhd (Pacific). The EPF has entered into a 30-year lease agreement on 6 April 2022 with Pacific who has started internal demolition works in accordance with its renovation plans.

The EPF, together with Pacific, are currently working with the local authorities and fire department to determine the cause of fire and assess the extent of the damage.
