EPF Hosts Integrity Day With Ministry Of Finance And Agencies 2023

KWASA DAMANSARA, 23 November 2023: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) today hosts the EPF Integrity Day with the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and Agencies 2023 with the main objective to increase cooperation between agencies under the MOF as well as announcing the call of the Government to improve practice and a culture of integrity among all staff and civil servants.

The event, themed “Integrity Manifestation of Malaysia MADANI”, was officiated Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, Deputy Minister of Finance I, attended by EPF Chairman Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir; EPF Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan; Datin Rashidah Mohd Sies, Deputy Secretary-General of the Treasury (Management), senior Government officials and heads of divisions and agencies.

In his welcoming address, Tan Sri Ahmad Badri said, “Every year, the EPF organises an integrity day celebration at the EPF level, where activities are carried out involving its internal staff only. However, it is different for this year as in addition to organising various activities at the EPF level, for the first time the Integrity Day is celebrated, including conducting joint programmes and activities, with the MOF and other agencies under its purview.

“As a trustee of Malaysians’ retirement savings, the EPF reflects on the core values that form the foundation of its financial stewardship and underscore the importance of integrity in every aspect of its operations. Every action we take is rooted in the best interests of EPF and on this day, we take a moment to reaffirm our dedication to the highest standards of integrity. This commitment extends beyond mere compliance with regulations, but permeates our organisational culture and informs the choices we make each day,” he said.

The event was attended by more than 800 members and staff from the participating organisations, all showing solidarity in fighting against corruption, in line with the recommendations of the Government as stated in the national Integrity and Anti-Corruption Plan (NACP).

Tan Sri Ahmad Badri said at the EPF level, there are four core priorities in the implementation of its Corruption Risk Management:

  • Implementation of 46 initiatives under the EPF Integrity and Anti-Corruption Plan;
  • Increase activities to strengthen practices with integrity among all EPF staff and stakeholders;
  • Increase cooperation and network with external parties; and
  • Implementation of the EPF Integrity Performance Index at all of its regional offices, branches, and departments.

“As part of the big MOF family, the EPF is very committed to succeed in the vision of the MADANI Economic framework, which aims to position Malaysian among the top-25 countries in the Corruption Perception Index in the next 10 years. This goal inspires us to continue to improve good governance and an efficient service delivery system so that this aspiration can be realised,” said Tan Sri Ahmad Badri.
