EPF Welcomes Ybhg Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir As New Chairman Effective 1 May 2020

KUALA LUMPUR, 30 April 2020: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) welcomes YBhg Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir as its new Chairman effective 1 May 2020. Tan Sri Ahmad Badri is replacing YBhg Tan Sri Samsudin Osman who is retiring after having served the EPF as Chairman for 13 years and three months since 2007.  


 
Tan Sri Ahmad Badri was, until recently, the Secretary General of Treasury in the Ministry of Finance where he served for nearly 30 years. He has sat on the EPF Investment Panel since 2014, and is highly experienced in the field of strategic investment, loan management, financial market, and actuarial science. Tan Sri Ahmad Badri also sits on several boards including Bank Negara Malaysia, the Retirement Fund Incorporated (KWAP), Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), and Tenaga Nasional Berhad amongst others.

We are sure that with his able leadership, the EPF will reach new levels of excellence and customer service for our members.” 


 
As the outgoing Chairman of the EPF, Tan Sri Samsudin has been the key driver in ensuring governance, professionalism and excellence have been sustained in delivering the EPF mandate to safeguard members’ savings and provide excellent services. Tan Sri Samsudin has also left a continuing legacy of a strong team of professionals managing one of the world’s largest and most respected retirement savings funds.  


 
Alizakri said “Tan Sri Samsudin, with his deep wisdom and firm guidance, has led EPF to become one of the most respected organisations in the region. I can only wish, on behalf of the EPF, our deepest gratitude and the very best for his future.”  


 
In addition to the retirement of Tan Sri Samsudin, the EPF is also announcing the retirement of YBhg Tan Sri Azman Shah Haron, who has been on the EPF Board as an Employers representative since 2007. Tan Sri Azman is President of the Malaysian Employers Federation and sits on the Board of various companies, including Alangka-Suka Hotels and Resorts Bhd, and various subsidiaries of Advance Synergy Bhd, including Cherating Holiday Villa Bhd. 


 
The EPF expresses its deepest and most heartfelt appreciation to Tan Sri Samsudin as well as Tan Sri Azman for their exceptional contributions, exemplary leadership and unmatched legacy throughout the long years of serving the EPF.
