New Appointments At EPF Top Management

KUALA LUMPUR, 3 September 2021: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) announced new appointments to its senior management team.

Dato’ Mohd Naim Daruwish retires from his position as Chief Operation Officer, and is succeeded by Sazaliza Zainuddin. Dato’ Mohd Naim served the EPF for almost three decades, and was instrumental in strengthening the operations of the EPF, including during recent times under the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. Dato’ Mohd Naim joined the EPF in 1992 as a Manager in the Prosecution/Litigation Division, and held several positions such as Head of Enforcement, Head of Legal, and Head of Contributions, before being appointed as Chief Operation Officer in 2014. His career started in 1985 in the Judiciary and Legal Services as a Magistrate.

Sazaliza assumes the position of Chief Operation Officer effective 1 September 2021. Sazaliza served with PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1997 until 2006, prior to joining the EPF in 2006 as Head of Accounts in the Finance Department. At the EPF, he served as the Head of Finance, Head of Procurement Management, and Head of Internal Audit, before being appointed as Chief Financial Officer in 2017. As Chief Operation Officer, he will oversee a broad portfolio of operational services and support functions, emphasising on performance management, effective service delivery, as well as contractual requirements.

With the change in Sazaliza’s portfolio, Mohamad Hafiz Kassim was promoted to Chief Financial Officer effective 1 August 2021. An accountant by training, Mohamad Hafiz was with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Daiwa Capital prior to joining the EPF in 2008. As the Chief Financial Officer, Mohamad Hafiz will be responsible for ensuring the operations of the Finance and Services Division are conducted effectively and efficiently.

Mohamad Hafiz joins Sazaliza and the rest of the EPF senior management team, led by Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan together with Chief Investment Officer Rohaya Mohammad Yusof, Chief Strategy Officer Nurhisham Hussein, and Chief Digital Technology Officer Muhammad Afhzal Abdul Rahman.
