EPF Chairman Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir said, “The EPF is honoured to have YAB Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim inaugurating the EPF’s new head office at Menara KWSP which is a key landmark of Kwasa Damansara. The EPF is not only the first to break ground and acquire a land plot in Kwasa Damansara, but it is also set to be the catalyst for growth in this new township, located on the last significant parcel of prime land in Selangor.

“Having watched over the progress of the building and the development of Kwasa Damansara over several years, it is a pleasure to finally arrive at today’s milestone, which is the result of much deliberation, planning and collaboration between the EPF, its wholly-owned subsidiary and master developer Kwasa Land Sdn Bhd, and project delivery partner Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB),” he added.

Kwasa Damansara is set to be one of the greenest township in the Klang Valley with many green buildings, initiatives and conservation efforts to preserve as well as increase the biodiversity of the township. The 12-storey Menara KWSP was awarded the Green Building Index (GBI) platinum rating, reflecting the EPF’s commitment to green values and sustainability.

In his welcoming speech, Tan Sri Ahmad Badri also highlighted the EPF focus on three key areas – retirement income adequacy, coverage and sustainable returns – in its commitment to rebuild members’ savings and return the focus to achieving retirement income security.

In doing so, the EPF is ramping up on its Outreach Programme to promote voluntary contributions to build savings while also expanding the EPF's coverage, particularly among informal sector workers such as gig workers, business owners and the self-employed or freelancers.

As at 31 December 2022, a total of 2,981 outreach programmes have been conducted throughout Malaysia where the EPF recorded an increase in the number of members who made voluntary contributions by 70% to 774,980 in 2022, compared to 455,361 in 2021.

Tan Sri Ahmad Badri said the EPF will continue to support the implementation of initiatives that seek to catalyse the accumulation and strengthen member’s retirement income, with a view to helping EPF members and future members achieve a dignified retirement.
