EPF Extends Term Of Chief Investment Officer

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) announces that the EPF Board, with the approval of the Ministry of Finance, has agreed to extend Dato’ Mohamad Nasir Ab Latif’s term as the EPF’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Investment) until 31 December 2019.

 

Dato’ Mohamad Nasir has held this role since 15 April 2013, and was due for retirement on 14 November 2018. The decision to extend his tenure is to ensure continuity in the EPF’s Investment division and enable a smooth succession plan.

 

Dato’ Mohamad Nasir’s career in the EPF started in 1982 where he has held several positions before being promoted as deputy chief executive officer for the Investment division. He previously held positions as State Enforcement Officer (1990-1995), Senior Research Officer, Manager and Senior Manager in the Investment and Economics Research Department (1995-2003) and General Manager of the International Equity Investment Department (2009-2013).

 

He is currently a Board Member of Sime Darby Plantation Berhad, PLUS Malaysia Berhad, Yinson Holdings Berhad, BBCC Development Sdn Bhd, the Battersea Project Company Limited and Yarra Park City Pty Ltd.

 

Dato’ Nasir graduated with a Bachelor in Social Science (Economics) from Universiti Sains Malaysia and obtained a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 1996. He also holds a Master of Science in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling, United Kingdom (1999).
