The main functions of e-Payroll are as follows:

  1. Update employee payroll
  2. Generate employee payslip
  3. Make contribution payments to EPF
  4. Generate statutory data file (electronic) for agencies (IRBM and SOCSO)
  5. Generate selected bank file (electronic) to pay employees’ salary payment via bank
  6. Generate IRBM Yearly Income Tax Forms
  7. Make salary deduction to third-parties (Tabung Haji, PTPTN and Zakat)

3. Does e-Payroll include all Human Resource Management modules?

e-Payroll only provides basic payroll management function. We encourage SMEs who need more HR functions such as claims and leave management to consider using any of the statutory compliant payroll solutions in the market.


4. Who is the target segment for e-Payroll?

e-Payroll is targeted at SMEs who are not utilising any payroll solutions.


5. Are Employers required to install any software to use e-Payroll?

Employers are not required to install any software. e-Payroll can be accessed via i-Akaun (Employer) from computers or tablets.


6. Are yearly tax forms available e-Payroll?

Yes. Yearly tax forms are available in the e-Payroll.


7. What is the suitable browser to use e-Payroll?

Any browser used to access i-Akaun (Employer) can be used to accesss e-Payroll such as Chrome version 69 or later, Firefox 61 and later, Safari 11 and later, or Edge 16 and later.


8. Are Employers able to make payments directly to other agencies via e-Payroll?

No. e-Payroll automatically generates data files (electronic) and also provides links to the respective statutory agency websites (IRBM and SOCSO) for mandatory contribution payments.


9. Can employers start using e-Payroll somewhere in the middle of the year? (i.e. Jul 2021?)

Yes. We strongly encourage new e-Payroll users who have just enrolled in e-Payroll to process their payroll from previous months starting January (of the current year) until the current month in order to have an accurate income tax calculation and a complete EA form for the year.


10. How long will the data in e-Payroll be stored.

Data in e-payroll will be stored for 7 years for Employer’s reference.


11. Is e-Payroll safe to use? How about its data?

EPF is strongly committed to ensuring the security of all its systems and data.


12. Is e-Payroll available in the Mobile Apps version?

14. How do employers handle Maybank2u Biz bank file?

Maybank2u Biz doesn't allow the CSV file to be generated. Payment Solution is done by Manual filing as follow:

  1. Save Maybank2u bank file generated by EPF e-Payroll.
  2. Login to Maybank2u portal and download bulk payment file template.
  3. Enter all data manually into the bulk payment file template, referring to the bank file generated by EPF e-Payroll.
  4. Finally, upload the bulk payment file into Maybank2u portal again.

15. How can employers obtain the CIMB Organization Code for corporate bank registration in e-Payroll?

Employers can obtain the CIMB Organization Code provided while registering a corporate bank account with CIMB.


16. What is meant by the salary month used in e-Payroll?

The salary month used in e-Payroll refers to the current month in the calendar. e-Payroll will display the current month according to the current date. Employers must select the desired month before processing their employee's payroll.


17. Can employers cancel processed payroll month using e-Payroll?

Employers are not encouraged to cancel processed payroll month. Therefore, it is important for employers to ensure that employee salary information is accurately verified before processing payroll through the e-Payroll.
