i-Simpan is only available to Malaysian citizens or Malaysian permanent residents who are registered EPF members and are below the age of 75.
3. If I am a salaried employee, can I make i-Simpan?
Yes. Salaried employees can make i-Simpan in addition to the mandatory monthly contributions made by their employer. This contribution is voluntary and can be made based on member’s financial capacity.

The calculation formula is as follows:
(Annual maximum Voluntary Contribution amount) – (Total voluntary contributions from all payment channels that have been credited to member’s EPF account) = Remaining Voluntary Contribution amount for the year
Example: RM100,000 – RM312 = RM99,688
Important reminder: Contributions made on the same day through different channels may not yet be reflected in the total contribution amount for the year.
10. What happens if I make a i-Simpan after reaching the age of 55?
All contributions received after members reach the age of 55 will be credited to their Akaun Emas and can only be withdrawn when they reach the age of 60 through Age 60 Withdrawal. However, member are not permitted to make contributions after reaching the age of 75.

Members may determine the contribution amount and the monthly deduction date to help grow their EPF savings consistently.

No charges are imposed for using the Auto Simpan feature.
3. How do I register for Auto Simpan?
Members can register for Auto Simpan via the KWSP i-Akaun app or the i-Akaun (Member) web portal to enable automatic and recurring monthly contributions using the DuitNow AutoDebit service. Follow these steps:
- Log in to the KWSP i-Akaun app or i-Akaun (Member) web portal;
- On the Home page, click the Savings tab;
- Click on "Increase Your Savings";
- Select “Activate Auto Simpan”;
- The Auto Simpan introduction screen will be displayed. Click “Continue”;
- Set your contribution amount and monthly deduction date;
- Select your bank;
- Confirm your contribution details, tick to agree with the Terms & Conditions, and click "Continue";
- Log in to your bank account to authorise the Auto Simpan registration;
- A confirmation message will be displayed. Click "Done" to complete the Auto Simpan registration process.

The following banks currently support Auto Simpan payments via DuitNow AutoDebit through the KWSP i-Akaun app or the i-Akaun (Member) web portal:

5. Can I use another person’s bank account details to register for Auto Simpan?
No. Members can only use their own active bank account. Using another person’s account is not permitted to avoid any issues during monthly deductions.
6. What are the minimum and maximum limits for Auto Simpan?
The minimum and maximum limits for Auto Simpan are as follows:
- Minimum: RM10;
- Maximum: RM100,000.
Note: The annual cumulative limit for voluntary contributions (i-Simpan contribution, i-Saraan contribution, i-Suri contribution, and Akaun Persaraan Top-Up Savings) across all payment channels is RM100,000.
7. Can I change the deduction date or contribution amount for Auto Simpan after registration?
No. The deduction date and contribution amount selected during registration will be applied on a recurring basis each month and cannot be changed as long as the Auto Simpan is active. To change any of these details, member must cancel the existing Auto Simpan and re-register with the new date or amount via the KWSP i-Akaun app or the i-Akaun (Member) web portal.
8. Why am I unable to select an earlier deduction date when registering for Auto Simpan?
For processing purposes, the system only allows the selection of a deduction date starting two (2) days after the registration date.
Example:
If members register on the 1st of the month, the earliest available deduction date will be from the 3rd onwards.
9. If I select a monthly deduction date that does not exist in a particular month, when will the deduction be made?
If the monthly deduction date have been selected by members does not exist in a particular month (e.g. the 29th, 30th, or 31st), the deduction will be made on the last day of that month.
Example:
- If members choose the 31st as their monthly deduction date, the deduction for September will be made on the 30th;
- If members choose the 30th as their monthly deduction date, the deduction for February will be made on the 28th (or 29th in a leap year).
10. How can I check my Auto Simpan registration status?
Members can check the status of their Auto Simpan registration through the KWSP i-Akaun app or the i-Akaun (Member) web portal by following these steps:
- Go to the “Profile”;
- Select “Auto Transactions”;
- Click “Auto Simpan Records”.
If the registration is successful, they will also receive a notification via push notification and a message in Inbox, accessible through the KWSP i-Akaun app or the i-Akaun (Member) web portal.
11. What happens to my Auto Simpan status if the payment amount exceeds the annual cumulative limit of RM100,000 for Voluntary Contributions?
Auto Simpan status will remain active. However, the monthly deductions will not be processed for the remainder of the year, as the annual Voluntary Contribution limit (including i-Simpan, i-Saraan, i-Suri, and Akaun Persaraan Top-up Savings) has been reached. The deductions will automatically resume in the following year. Members will be notified through a push notification and inbox via the KWSP i-Akaun app or the i-Akaun (Members) web portal.
12. Why did my Auto Simpan deduction fail?
Auto Simpan deduction may have failed due to one of the following reasons:
- Insufficient funds in member’s bank account;
- DuitNow AutoDebit payment authorisation has expired or is invalid;
- A technical disruption occurred during the payment transaction;
- The payment transaction was blocked or declined by the bank.
13. If the Auto Simpan deduction for the month is unsuccessful, what should I do?
Members may make the contribution manually via the Increase Your Savings feature by selecting “Contribute to Myself” in the KWSP i-Akaun app or the i-Akaun (Member) web portal, to ensure their EPF savings remain consistent.
14. Can I cancel Auto Simpan after it has been activated?
Yes. Members may cancel an active Auto Simpan at any time via the KWSP i-Akaun app or the i-Akaun (Member) web portal at:
- Auto Simpan tab: Select “Increase Your Savings” card → Select “Auto Simpan ” tab → Select “View Details” → Select “Cancel Auto Simpan”; or
- Profil: Select “Profile” → Select “Auto Transaction” → Select “Auto Simpan records” → Select “Cancel Auto Simpan”.
15. Why is Auto Simpan automatically terminated?
Auto Simpan will be automatically terminated if:
- Members have reached the age of 75; or
- Their EPF account is closed due to Leaving the Country Withdrawal or Death Withdrawal.
