Education Programme for Employers
Introduction To Employer Responsibilities
Level: Basic
Programme Objective:
At the end of this programme, participants will be able to:
a. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Employees Provident Fund Act 1991, including its fundamental provisions and recent amendments, relevant to newly registered employers.
b. Enhance the ability to interpret and implement legal requirements effectively in workplace practices to ensure compliance with the Act.
c. Foster a strong sense of responsibility and ethical commitment towards safeguarding employees’ rights in alignment with statutory obligations.
Target Group:
Human Resources Officer/Supervisor who manages employment affairs, human resource management, finance, legal, industrial relations and taxation.
Course Content:
a. Importance of social protection from the EPF perspective
b. Roles of employers according to the EPF Act 1991
c. Basic obligations of employers and fundamental rights of employees
Employer’s Responsibilities Towards Employees
Level: Intermediate
Workshop Objective:
At the end of this programme, participants will be able to:
a. Recognise the roles and responsibilities play by the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Income Tax Department (LHDN), Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) and Department of Labour (JTK).
b. Evaluate current issues concerning labour rights and employee benefits within the frameworks of the EPF Act, Income Tax Act, SOCSO Act, and Employment Act.
c. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of employee rights and employer responsibilities as prescribed by Malaysian laws, promoting compliance and adherence to ethical workplace practice

a. Develop and implement practical solutions to address compliance challenges related to EPF contributions, ensuring errors are minimised and corrective measures are effectively applied when necessary.
b. Promote a culture of compliance and ethical practices by applying appropriate methods to resolve specific employer contribution issues and uphold responsibilities under the EPF Act.
