Leaving the Country

Members who have given up your Malaysian citizenship to migrate to another country; or expatriates; Permanent Residents (PR); or foreign workers returning to your home country, can choose to withdraw all of your EPF savings.

Additional documents required for Malaysian and Non-Malaysian Members

The required supporting documents may vary for Malaysian and Non-Malaysian Members. So, it's crucial to get all your documents right to pave your way to smoother applications.

Proof of Identity is needed when:

  • If passport number does not match EPF records
    Copy of old passport used when EPF account was registered
  • If original passport is not with the applicant
    Temporary travel permit from the Embassy of applicant’s country in Malaysia
  • If member’s particulars are incomplete or mismatched in EPF records
    Letter Confirming the Identification of Applicant  from employer*
    OR
    Letter Confirming the Identification of Applicant from applicant's embassy
    OR
    Verification Form of Member's Contribution** from employer
  • Marriage certificate/Birth certificate/relevant supporting documents – if members' particulars in passport differs from EPF records
  • Ex-Citizen
    1. Proof of Renunciation
      Letter of renunciation of citizenship (Form K / Form Y)
      OR
      Letter from National Registration Department/Malaysian Embassy/High Commission of Malaysia/Malaysian Consulate in foreign country to confirm renunciation of citizenship
  • Permanent Resident
    1. Proof of Surrender
      Confirmation letter for surrender of Identity Card from the National Registration Department
  • Expatriate

    Expatriates should apply two (2) months before the expiry of work permit, termination of contract by employer or date of resignation.

  •   PAYMENT METHODS
    Local Payments Overseas Payments
    Full payment in Ringgit Malaysia (RM) will be credited to your account
    If you hold an active account with our panel bank and your identification number matches the bank records
    Full payment will be made via Foreign Demand Draft in the currency of your choice
    If your preferred currency is included in our list of approved currencies
    You will be issued a Bankers Cheque
    If payment to your account is unsuccessful
    Full payment will be made via Foreign Demand Draft in US Dollars
    If your preferred currency is not available on our approved list

    1. Certify your documents

    Ensure ALL copies of documents have been certified and acknowledged by the authorised persons.

    (complete with name, designation and official stamp except for copies of documents which require certification by an EPF officer)
