What is i-Suri?

i-Suri is a voluntary contribution program for women registered in the National Poverty Data Bank (eKasih) including housewives, widows, single mothers and single women. Eligible EPF members will receive a Special Incentive of up to a a maximum of RM300 per year, subject to a lifetime incentive limit of RM3,000 or upon reaching the age of 55, whichever comes first.


Why was i-Suri introduced?

The introduction of i-Suri aims to empower eligible women whose listed in eKasih acquire the following benefits: 

i.   Ensuring retirement income security in their elderly years, particularly for vulnerable women at high risk of poverty;
ii.  Safeguarding their well-being in their elderly years or during sudden changes in the household;
iii. Recognising and acknowledging the significant contribution of women in maintaining the harmony of the household and the country; and
iv. Promoting a culture of continuous savings for retirement income in their elderly years.
This initiative is designed to address the unique challenges faced by women, enhancing their financial security and acknowledging their invaluable role in society.


Who is eligible to apply for i-Suri?

i.    EPF member;
ii.   Malaysian Citizen;
iii.  Below 55 years of age;
iv.  Women registered under the National Poverty Data Bank (eKasih) as of 30 November of the previous year.


How can EPF members listed in eKasih register under i-Suri?

Members listed in eKasih as of 30 November of the previous year can register for i-Suri in the following ways:

i. Automatic registration for new EPF members, where information will be matched with eKasih data
ii. Self-registration through:-
          a.  KWSP i-Akaun application
          b.  Online registration on the EPF website
          c.  Self-Service Terminal (SST) at EPF Offices
iii.  Visit the nearest EPF branch by completing the Borang Permohonan Pendaftaran Caruman Sukarela i-Saraan/i-Suri (KWSP 16G (M))


What is the total amount of the Special Incentive that housewives/women registered under i-Suri will receive?

The i-Suri Special Incentive is based on a matching contribution of 50% for every RM1 contributed, capped at an annual maximum of RM300.

In addition, a cumulative lifetime Special Incentive limit of RM3,000 or until the age of 55, whichever comes first, has been introduced and take effect starting from the year 2024.


How can i-Suri contribution payments be made?

Members can make i-Suri contribution payments through the following channels: -

i.    KWSP i-Akaun app;
ii.   Internet banking;
iii.  Bank agent counters – BSN, Maybank, Public Bank & RHB Bank;
iv.  Registered bank agent – (EB) BSN;
v.   Payment via cheque and bank draft at all EPF Office Receipting Counters;
vi.  Debit Card payments at any EPF branches or through Mobile KWSP Team/Relationship Advisory (RA)


What is the minimum amount that needs to be contributed for members to receive the annual maximum i-Suri Special Incentive of RM300?

There is no minimum requirement for voluntary i-Suri contributions. However, members are encouraged to contribute at least RM600 under i-Suri for the year to qualify for the annual maximum Special Incentive of RM300.

How is the lifetime Special Incentive maximum limit calculated?

The lifetime maximum limit is calculated based on the cumulative total of annual Special Incentives and is limited to RM3,000 or upon reaching the age of 55, whichever comes first.

Example:
Aminah contributes to i-Suri and receives the Special Incentive for 2024 and 2025.

The total accumulated Special Incentive she received is RM600.

The i-Suri Special Incentive that she is still eligible to receive is RM2,400 (RM3,000 - RM600).


Why are there individual listed in the eKasih data who are not eligible to apply for i-Suri?

Individual listed in the eKasih data are not eligible to apply for i-Suri if:

i.    They are not listed as eKasih participant as of 30 November of the previous year.
ii.    They exceed the age requirement.

Note: Individual who fall under the above criteria may opt to register for i-Saraan to receive i-Saraan Special Incentives, subject to the applicable terms and eligibility conditions.


When is the i-Suri Special Incentive payment credited to the member's EPF account?

i-Suri Special Incentive payment will be credited into the member's EPF account twice a year (subject to the receipt of Special Incentive payments from the Government).


What are the benefits for members who contribute under i-Suri?
